Clementine's Naughty & Nice Ice Cream Takeaway. Naughty = Expensive, Nice = Delicious. Clementine's may cost an arm and a leg for ice cream, but damn is it good. 9.2 / 10 ice cream, it's the real deal. I got an espresso royale with flakes of espresso. My wife had a midnight cherry bite in a waffle cone. At $5.50 for a scoop and $2 for a waffle cone, ice cream for two cost us $16. They have a ton of custom flavors, including chocolate bourbon and champagne. Real deal ice cream experience.
Clementine's is my favorite ice cream in St. Louis.
Standard ice cream service in a single file line with multiple people taking orders. You can taste test any flavor you like, with some people tasting two. They had two people taking orders, so a line will form when eight people come in like us at 9 pm. Parking in a giant dedicated lot at this location in Clayton, they have several locations around St. Louis.
Clementine's Naughty & Nice Ice Cream Experience Summary
Over the course of the last year, dessert in St. Louis has consistently disappointed me. From random frozen custard stops to after-dinner ice cream, Ben & Jerry's topped the list of my preferred treats.
So it was with a bit of hesitation that I stepped into Clementine's after an escape room in South County. I had heard great things, but my experience made me hesitant.
The ice cream parlor had a smattering of people sitting outside eating various cups and cones. When we opened the door, the two scoopers chatted behind the glass as a customer eyed the display case.
My attention first ran to the gamut of flavors that lined the menu. Nothing comes standard. Instead of vanilla, you get madagascar vanilla. Instead of chocolate, you get chocolate dreams. And instead of coffee, I got espresso royale.
Those regal names come with a regal price tag. A kid's cone runs around $5, and an adult-sized two-scoop cone will set you back about $7.
After paying and heading outside, it was time for the big moment.
Scoop and taste.
Whoa.
With bits of espresso throughout a creamy, rich base, Clementine's delivered. No more dessert disappointment.
The search for the best ice cream in St. Louis is over.
Clementine's wins.
The Food At Clementine's Naughty & Nice Ice Cream
The variety at Clementine's offers flavors you won't find anywhere else.
I tasted one of their boozy options, like Bourbon Chocolate, which pairs lush chocolate with a subtle hint of bourbon. Though I'm not usually drawn to bourbon flavors, the chocolate in this scoop is so rich that it almost overshadows the alcohol, leaving a smooth, indulgent finish. Other fan favorites like Gooey Butter Cake and classic Vanilla add a solid mix to the menu, letting you explore fun tastes or stick with the tried and true. During the pandemic, we even had some of their pints delivered, and they held up beautifully, delivering that same decadent flavor right to our door.
For instance, Espresso Royale has this perfectly balanced taste with a kick of real espresso, and those little espresso flakes give a satisfying crunch in every bite. My wife opted for the Cherry, and each spoonful was bursting with pure cherry flavor--a testament to their commitment to quality ingredients.
Imagine the creamiest, most indulgent ice cream you can think of--then take it up a notch. From the first taste, Clementine's sets a high bar that few can match, blending velvety textures with unique flavors that make each visit an adventure. With offerings like Espresso Royale, packed with crunchy espresso flakes, and a Cherry flavor that brings the fruit's essence into every bite, Clementine's doesn't just serve ice cream; it delivers a memorable experience.
Of course, all this quality comes at a price. A kid's cone runs around $5, and an adult-sized two-scoop cone will set you back about $7. It's a splurge, no doubt, but Clementine's level of craftsmanship and creativity is what makes it special. If you're used to grabbing a pint of Ben & Jerry's, brace yourself for the difference. The flavors and textures here are meticulously crafted, and every scoop is a reminder of what truly great ice cream tastes like.
Clementine's Naughty & Nice Ice Cream Atmosphere And Miscellaneous
Service at Clementine's is top-notch. Even when we came in as a big group--eight of us fresh from an escape room--the staff kept things moving smoothly. They had two people working the line, and even though our crowd might've caused a slight delay for those behind us, we were all served within ten minutes. They're generous with the samples, so you can explore different flavors before committing, and it's clear they want you to find exactly what you'll love.
A heads-up on the cones: they do make their waffle cones in-house, which is a nice touch, but my wife tried one, and the extra cost might not be worth it if you're not a cone enthusiast. For me, I usually skip the cone, but the fact they press them fresh is a nice touch for those who enjoy them.

I've had the pleasure of trying three different locations, and the quality has remained consistent across the board. It's refreshing to see that as they expand, they're still committed to the same high standards.
